I have been doing my best to stay active since I have been stuck at home. I have a treadmill but I find it really hard not to get bored after 5 minutes, even if I am watching TV or listening to music.
But recently I discovered that virtual walking tours on YouTube are great for keeping me entertain while I walk on the treadmill.
These virtual tours really make me feel like I am exploring Italy, even though I am just walking on my boring treadmill. The constant change in scenery makes it much more entertaining which make the time go by faster.
So I decided to compile a list of 15 different walking tours based in Italy as a challenge! Each day you can watch a different tour while you walk on the treadmill.
Each day you will walk on the treadmill for 30-45 minutes on whatever speed you are comfortable with.
Most of these tours are over an hour long. So you can save the second half for another time. If you don’t like some of these videos you can also go back and watch the second half of the videos you do like.
This is just a fun way to motivate yourself to stay active and enjoy some views that the same time.

Italy Virtual Walking Tours

1. Amalfi, Italy
Day 1, take a walk around the beautiful Amalfi coast. You will see views of the coast and cute little towns and learn a few history lessons along the way. It is very entertaining and you will be done with the walk before you know it.

Day 2, explore Rome from the comfort of your own home. This tour starts Porta del Popolo, ends at St. Peter’s Basilica and covers most attractions and historic sites of Rome.
3. Sorrento, Italy
For day 3, take a walk around Sorrento, Italy. You will get a gimps of ancient streets, cute boutiques, and views of the bay!
4. Genoa, Italy
Day 4, take a peak through Genoa, Italy. This amazing tour starts Ferrari Square and ends at Carlo Felice Theater. You will also get to see most of the attractions and historic sites of Genoa.
5. Milan, Italy
For day 5, check out beautiful Milan, Italy. This tour starts Cathedral Square and ends at Vertical Forest. It is about 2 1/2 hours long so you can save the second half for another time.
6. Venice, Italy
Day 6, journey through the beautiful Venice, Italy. This tour starts at St. Lucia Train Station and ends at Campo San Geremia. You will get to see several different attractions and historic sites all from the comfort of your own home. I absolutely love this tour, Venice is so beautiful and I can’t wait to see it in person soon.
7. Florence, Italy
Day 7, walk around Florence, Italy. During this tour you will get to see the Baptistery of St. John, inside the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and the steps of Giotto’s Bell Tower. The beauty of this city is unreal!
8. Procida, Italy
For day 8, explore Procida, Italy. This tour begins at Ferry Port of Marina Grande and over to the other side of the island to the fishing village. You will also learn a little history along the way.
9. Pisa, Italy
Day 9, walk around Pisa, Italy. This tour starts at St. Mary’s Gate and ends at Santa Maria della Spina Church. Explore this beautiful city and learn a little history along the way. It is very interesting to see.
10. Capri
Day 10, walk through the beautiful Capri island. The tour begins at the Belvedere of the Piazzetta and you will get to see The Gardens of Augustus and Charterhouse of San Giacomo. It is definitely worth the watch. You will be amazed by the beauty of everything.
11. The Gardens Of Ninfa
For day 11, take a relaxing stroll through The Gardens Of Ninfa, Italy.
12. Positano, Italy
Day 12, walk around the beautiful Positano, Italy. This tour begins high up on the hill and walks down the Viale Pasitea to the beaches below.
13. Naples, Italy
Day 13, spend some time walking the beautiful streets of Naples, Italy. You will get a gimps of the ancient streets of the historic center of Naples and see some awesome shops and restaurants.
14. Verona, Italy
For day 14, journey through Verona, Italy This tour starts at starts at Castelvecchio Bridge and ends at Borsari Gate.
16. Assisi, Italy
